Founded in 2007, SWC Buzz was launched in July as a complement to the FCIAC Football Blog. It will feature the same elements of the original, but is designed to promote comments from the readers.
Q: Who visits these Websites?
A: You would think just high school football players, but based on stats and polls conducted on the FCIAC Football Blog, about 45% of the readership are coaches, parents and/or FCIAC alumni. So while the target audience is high school football players from the 19 FCIAC schools, it reaches some very influential business decision-makers who lives in those towns.
Q: Why should I sponsor these Websites?
A: Because you will be reaching a very diverse but targeted audience with a passion for high school football. We are expecting the same success with the SWC Buzz as we received with the FCIAC Football Blog. Readers have shown to be very loyal to blog sponsors, and are willing to do business with them.
Q: The football season runs from September to November, why should I sponsor for an entire year?
A: Football has become a year-round high school sport in Fairfield County. From recruiting to passing leagues to spring football to summer camps, the FCIAC Football Blog was active (and frequently visited) in the traditional off-season. Though the biggest single day for the blog in 2006 was Thanksgiving (1,170 visitors, 700 unique), there was an average of 225 unique visits and 600 page views from January to May 2007, and 350 unique visits and 900 page views during spring football. Those numbers are all expected to grow due to our partnerships with other media outlets during the 2007 season.
Q: What will it cost me?
A: Depending on the package you choose, it can cost you less than $2 a day! Plus, again depending on your package, you may be eligible for on-air mentions on a related Internet radio show blog founder Tim Parry will host multiple Saturday mornings during the football season.
